my family are relient on JSB at the moment & have just had an offer to work for 1 possibly 2 days a week at basic pay.i would do it no problem but when the new rule comes in in July about the 5 day week not 6 days it seems we would be worse off as i would bee losing a day.
Not sure what to do,any advice appriciated or am i even right?

Operational guidelines for the operation of the 5 day rather than 6 day week for casual jsb have not been disclosed yet so it is impossible to say what will happen. I could take an educated guess but it would be unfair as my educated guess may not be how the department will operate the scheme.

Unless you are getting paid less for your day's work than what you currently get from your Jobseekers Benefit payment (whether on 1/6 or 1/5 basis), then you're better off working. Of course any transport and childcare costs which apply can also affect whether you're financially better taking the job or not.
