Bus lane problem/query

    Folks,

Sorry about this a bit of an odd one but hopefully someone in the know can help me out. i was driving home this evening and as it was 7 and the traffic was backed up a bit i decided to drive in the bus lane (7 - 7 so i was ok ... so i thought). Now the problem is it was exactly 7 by my watch and the clock in the car. anyway about half a mile down the road i notice a traffic corp jeep in my rear view mirror. i wasn't pulled up or anything but i'm slightly concerned they may have noted my reg and i might be getting a nasty surprise in the post over the next few days. Does anyone can/do they do this (i.e. 'do' you for bus lane driving without pulling you over)? I'm just a bit worried the clocks might have been a minute or two fast, or even the ones the guards have might be slow.

Sorry i appreciate this is a bit all over the place and probably contains more than a little paranoia but i am genuinely worried i'll 'done' slightly unfairly.

    Thanks

You're fine. If they didn't pull you then no problems.

you worry too much, at least you done the right thing and used the bus lane when you were allowed to, many of those drivers in the other lane backing up traffic where probably going the same way as you but were too afraid to use the Bus-lane because they dont know how to drive.

Got pulled in a bus lane a year or so back.... Garda "are you aware you're driving in a bus lane?" "I am.... It's also 19:05" "On your way...." :D

Got a parking ticket on the windscreen a few years ago after parking in a bus lane.. Wrote a letter to the appeals address on the back of the ticket saying that it was a Sunday and that the bus lane wasn't in operation on Sundays and I haven't heard anything since.

Its frightening how many people can't read the signs detailing the bus lane hours of operation.

Actually, it's great for the few of us who do read signs. After 19.00 it's a joy to have a clear lane all to myself.

They're printed in tiny letters that aren't visible to anyone driving at normal speeds!

Lets keep it quiet! Nothin i like better than whizzing past a queue of traffic (legally) at 7.01 down the N2.

One of lifes pleasures. Although flying up Constitution Hill at 3:55pm is better as the bus lane there is only peak times 4pm to 7pm

Best is the quays heading into town, been pulled twice between 10:00am and 12:00 in the bus lane.

"YOU KNOW THATS A BUS LANE?" while the goody dos leer in the other lane.

"Yes and it's free to drive in between 10:00am - 12:00"

    Cue menopause looking face

Stupid lane, was done there about 2 years ago for heading up it to turn left. What's the point in increasing traffic when I'm not going straight?

Used the bus lane at Houston station on Monday evening.. no one else in it at all...

And I got some strange looks, which makes me even more smug :P

Could you be done for undertaking if driving in the bus lane or would the "slower moving traffic" rule apply?

    Not being rude, but obviously...

That stretch of the n4 at Houston is terrible, cars barely move in the right lane

The bus lane is classed as a seperate carriage no? Or is that only when its in operation.
