Maybe this is already well know but..

I'm abroad on the continent, do a fair bit of driving, the local radio stations are cack, Radio 4 is just too scratchy, and I've almost run out of Ricky Gervais XFM mp3 downloads..

    cue radio downloader..

free little program, it appears I have access to everything from the BBC - downloads whatever I want, turns it into mp3, I can whack it on a memory stick and listen to it in the car.

I've just downloaded a Parkinson easy listening selection, 3 hours of Gideon Coe and several of the discovery documentaries; just beats the hell out of listening to my repetitive mp3 collection.. nice

Or if you're not at your computer and you realise you need to record something, www.radiorecorder.co.uk on your smartphone does the job nicely.
