looking at a 2005 audi a4 1.9 115bhp tdi. it has 100,000 miles on the clock. what are good and bad with them? is 115bhp adequate?

how much are dual mass fly wheels and turbos for these cars if they went down the line?

They are great cars in my opinion. The 115bhp 1.9TDI is adequate but no more than adequate in all honesty. They remap quite well though and are much more reliable than the 2.0TDI.

Be very careful buying one as loads were brought in from the UK and clocked so do your homework before buying. If you buy a good one and look after it properly you will find it gives you great service.

Turbos and dual mass flywheels aren't that troublesome on them. If they do go you are looking at about €900 for a proper recon turbo supply and fit and €800 for a quality clutch and DMF supply and fit at a decent independent garage.

Timing belts are due every 4 years or 120,000km, whichever comes first. Budget around €350 for the job.

Engine mounts, CV joints and boots, track rod ends, inner tie rods, front suspension arms and rear shock absorbers can all wear out but generally only at high mileage (200,000km and over generally)
