Anyone used Crash Repair place on Dublin's Northside?

I was in an accident last week, where someone without insurance reverse at high speed into the front of my car. I got the guards involved etc, but said it was ok if they (the other driver) got my car fixed... so as to keep costs low.

I got the car back yesterday and got my ex-mechanic friend to look over it. He says there are a few things that still need fixing. So I want to now head to a Crash Repair place myself, get a free estimate, quote it to the other driver, and then most likely get the work done myself.

I still want to keep the costs low... just in case I have trouble getting the money off the other driver (always a possibility) but want a good job done obviously.

Anyone got any advice on good Crash Repair spots on Dublin's Northside?

Wouldn't mind some advice on the situation too. D'ya think I'm right in getting it done myself this time and sending on the invoice to the other driver? Cheers

In my opinion you will have little chance in getting the money off the other driver. If they are prepared to drive around with no insurance they will have no problem in avoiding paying for your damage. If it was me I would get the quote and then inform them they have 10 days to pay you in full prior to the work comencing or you are going to the Gardaí, otherwise they will mess you around and you will never get your money.

Also are the Gardaí going to pursue them for driving with no insurance or are they one of these people above the law?

Thanks Atlantic Dawn. Well the guards told me that if the other driver didn't do the work up to par, to let them know. A court date is being set for the lack of insurance, and their vehicle was taken off them. So... in its definitely in their interest to keep me happy.

I'd recommend Carcraft in Ballybough for a quote, I am not sure if they do seriously bad damage or not though, most examples on their website seem to be of mostly minor damage.

I know its not northside in fact its more than likely out of your way but if you wanted to venture southside Noel Hannon Crash Repair in Bray are excellent.

I can give a major thumbs up to AJK Motors in Rush. Might be a bit too far out though.

AJK did some work for me before and the work was top notch.. Have also used Trimtech in airside and again would highly recommend them.

Stewart's near the Finglas exit on the M50. He did a perfect job on my last motor - spraying and fitting a front grill. He suggested bonding the badge with broken clips rather than paying silly money for a new one. Saved me €50.

I sent my mother up there recently with a less than perfect second hand mirror for her Clio. Another perfect job. Reasonably priced too.
