Getting the wheel rolling on my full license..

So basically Ive had my LP since September 2010 for a car. I've decided that this summer is the summer where Ill go for my full test. I recently got a 94 Nissan Micra so I'm working my way towards getting it road worthy etc.

Anyways heres my question. The LP that I have covers a bike, a tractor and a car. Because I did my theory test for my bike license in 2009 its obviously out of date by now. Because its out of date on my current LP does that mean that my whole LP is classed as "expired" even though my car LP is valid till September ? i.e I cant learn to drive with it and I have to get a new one ?

My second question has to do with if things went south during the summer and I didn't end up taking my full test and I had to wait till say christmas. When I re-apply and get my second LP do I have to take the mandatory lessons as well ?

Any other advice on the full test etc would be appreciated (When and where to book) ??

Thanks so much in advance for any help

Only the bike 'bit' of your LP is out of date - you can continue driving a car (or tractor, work vehicle etc.) on your LP until it's expiry date, once you are not driving a bike.

You will not need to do the 12 mandatory lessons. That only applies to those who obtained their *first* Learner Permit on or after 4th April 2011.

If you haven't read it already, there's a sticky at the top of this forum with information about booking the test, etc.
