    Hi,

Just wondering to anybody who knows out there, I'm am getting my first car in a few weeks, and want to know what you pay to fill your car per week, and how many kilometers you get out of it.

Preferrably, I'd like to hear from anyone who has 1.0L - 1.2L cars, such as Peugeot 206's. Fiat Punto's, Seat Ibiza's, VW Polo's etc.

Hope you can help me as I'm trying to budget for petrol costs per week, especially with how expensive they are! Cheers.

What type of driving will you be doing?

Motorway, country and city driving has a variable effect on driving, as does your driving style.

I had a 206 pug few years ago and it was so economical!! now it was only a 1.1L but I loved that lil thing as it was my first car and perfect for learning to drive:) I could get weeks out of a full tank of petrol(depending on where I was driving of course, which was mostly around the city):p

I would be doing mostly city driving, a bit of motorway driving here and there.. would probably be doing 70km a week, maybe slightly more!

    Thanks Amzie,
I was thinking a peugeot 206 might be a good idea seen as its middle of the road between 1 - 1.2L in power!

They are all going to be completely amazing on petrol, just go for the car you like most.

Hi. I use our 2004 1.2 Ibiza during the week commuting in Dublin traffic, about 25 km each day and maybe 20 Km over the weekend. 55 eur fills it to the brim @ 1.57 per litre. Lasts about 3 weeks. Maybe a little more, but I'm probably a bit light-footed

70km a week is quite low, so your full tank will last over 6 weeks in a small car and it will cost you about €9 per week on fuel.
