I'm trying yo loose weight, I'm size 14 age 31 height 5,5 and weigh 68 kgs I've l lost 10 kg since xmas on diet alone. I want to loose another 10kgs. I've signed up to do the flora mini marathon, I've cut down on my food intake but I went out walking today I did 2km, and 1 hour later had low blood sugars, I'm not diabetic, my daughter is, so I knew the feeling of low blood sugars and tested them. They were 3.2 and I was symptomatic.

How can I lose weight if when I exercise I end up with low blood sugars. I end up eating more than I should, if I eat more than I should, I won't lose weight. I will only be walking off the calories I eat to stop low blood sugars.

Not looking for medical advice, just nutrition and exercise advice.

You should post up an example of your diet.

Are you saying *specifically* you're hypoglycaemic or diabetic? If not then why are you worried about low blood sugar after exercise?

Thats a bit hard, every day is different.

I dont eat b.fast, never have never will.

between 11 and 1 i have 4 weight watchers brown bread and tuna, + fruit.

snack is a 80 calorie bar + apple or other fruit

eat pasta/rice/potatoes meat + veg or stir fry at around 6 pm, might or might not have a snack after.

*not following any plan or diet regime just doing my own thing.

Could have up to 5 cups of tea a day + herbal tea.

Not diabetic. Been tested a good few times.

Hypoglycemic defo. Have had a few nasty ones over the years since the age of 15.

Im not worried about the low blood sugars i just want to prevent myself from having a hypo but at the same time not eat too much as i will be eating more calories than i am loosing.

If i do have a hypo i get ravenous and eat 80+ carbs before i feel normal again. I get the low blood sugars after exercise, but i dont want to drink lucozade. I also cant exercise on a full stomach as i will feel sick and sluggish.

Your diet needs a kick start.

Easiest solution is to ditch the wheat, drink more water and get in those walks daily.

Keep it simple to start with and then get more specific when you have the first 3-6 kg off. Your diet is contributing to the low blood sugar levels e.g. The bar and fruit at lunch time, the 4 slices of bread etc

You need to eat more protein too to help balance those blood sugars. When your blood sugars are low you feel like crap and all your discipline goes out the window. Try having protein with your carbs at each meal and in each snack and see how you feel then. Good luck:)
