What difference does it make now that you've already bought them? They are what they are. :)

You got reefed for a set of plastic ditch finders. If you wanted crap tyres, you could have saved yourself at least another hundred quid. If you wanted decent tyres, you should have asked before you bought! They'd have cost about the same!

I've never even heard of them.

You won't find any review because they won't have been tested in Europe.

Plus the fact you threw away €300

Why did you not ask here first?

Will they even pass an NCT? Do they have the "E" mark?

The 'E' mark thing is a bit of a sham and doesn't in any way indicate the quality of the tyres unfortunatly, or even that they actually meet European standards for that matter.

A bit like the NCT, so :D

I just don't understand why people buy these ****ty ****ty tires. If its danger you want just disconnect your air bags and don't wear a seat belt.

You wouldn't drive a car if you new the brakes didn't work so why would you get tires that won't give you grip to stop either.

The government need to make it so these tires are illegal!!!!!

Would you buy tesco value condoms if such a thing existed?

    Rubber is important! :D

But on a serious note you could have gotten decent budget tyres like Falken 452's for that kind of money

OP, you could have bought decent mid range known branded tyres for that sort of money.

€302 for 4 of these delivered and €50 to have them fitted and balanced:

You might even buy them locally for in or around the same price.

Not what I was getting at at all. Lack of an E mark would make them almost entirely useless.

I'm not a fan of the NCT in it's current form but at the very least it makes people consider their tyres once every two years.

Most of the Chinese muck has an E mark on it these days. An E marking doesn't make them good tyres, it must means they met a minimum standard.

The basic E mark doesn't mean they've met any standards at all:eek:

It probably means the tyre must be round in shape.

The problem is that they tyre manufacturing industry is mainly self regulatory.

The required 'E'(note upper case E) mark just means that the manufacturer has stated that the tyres have been made following basic guidelines set by Europe. All of these random brand Chinese tyres will only have an 'E' mark.

All tyres which have actually been tested in Europe and have passed the safety standards carry an 'e' mark(lower case e) as well as the 'E' mark.

Hence why I say the E mark thing is a sham. If they are going to bother with having a European quality system then only products which have actually been tested should be allowed to be sold:rolleyes:

205/50/16 size tyres more expensive than common 205/55/16 size ones.

I guess this is why OP went cheap tyre route. I would put 205/55 decent tyres for similar price he paid.

Are you sure they are not rapid 999s

No, rapid 999 is what's likely to be needed if the OP ever has to speed up, slow down, or turn.

I had a set of cheap chinese tyres on a mk3 golf, they were grand in dry conditions, but completly sh1t€ when it was cold and wet, after a couple of near misses I got rid of them and spent a few euro more on decent tyres, the difference was night and day...

for the sake of an extra €10 or €15 per tyre, it is not worth it when you really need it.

I'm a cheap b@stard at the best of times but I have been converted and will pay that little bit extra for quality tyres on my car and the wife's

Getting them swapped for Avon ZZ3's on Monday...
