    Hi All

Just had to go and cancel our wedding plans at Bunratty Castle hotel.
The wedding was for 9th June 2012 Saturday and deposit paid. Found out now we cannot marry in Ireland as my Finance has been annulled in the Philippines and the registry office wont accept the wedding as the papers are not recognized in Ireland and we had to seek legal advice which we did and they said €3500 to €5500 to try and get it recognized here but may not be successful so we have had to cancel everything.

We can now only go to the Philippiness and get married which means none of my friends best man can get there as none can afford this extra cost so very small wedding and need to get my parents there now. Oh god all ahead of me.

Anyone who knows someone who wanted that hotel can now book this date.

    John

Its very generous of you to let others know when you are obviously very dissapointed at the change in plans. I wish you and your fiance the very best. I am sure you will have a lovely wedding and maybe you can have a blessing over here so your friends and family can join in your celebrations.

Thanks for the support that is what we plan on doing but all needs to be done before October as Work permit is expired. So all madness now sorting out everything. Paying for it will be another problem.

Why don't you just go to the Phillipines (the 2 of you), and then have the wedding as normal over here with a blessing / informal ceremony after as planned?

That's really sad to hear jhud, I hope you get it all sorted out.
At least you can try take the trip to the philippines as a prewedding holiday and then have an amazing party when you come back.
Best of luck with it all x
