    going from duleek to julianstown today on that new stretch of road wind behind man i was flying, at least i thought i was until some guy on a road bike red jersey passed me as if i was standind still :eek: but more impressive was the guy that passed 3 minutes later on his mountain bike this guy was burning up the road wouldn't be surprized if he caught the roadie 3 minutes ahead.:D:D
    i was thinking to myself when they passed was i ever that fast on a bike emm maybe 25 years ago:D:D

    I learnt long ago that no matter how fast you think you are there is always someone faster :)

    (Wasn't there some dude here who won a race on a MTB against a roadie around the hill of Howth about two years ago?)

    yeah, I was at that. Would be fair to say there were slight navigational issues at play.

    Last summer, on well surfaced flat piece of well surfaced road which is usually into a headwind but for once was deadly calm, I was feeling pleased with myself for being able to sit at 30mph. A few seconds later, someone else on another bike went flying past me:mad:

    I remember years ago, nice spring morning, and I was really motoring along on my road bike commute. At least I thought I was until this guy passed me on a mountain bike and he was sitting up eating Ambrosia cream rice with a spoon out of a tin......

    I keep an Irish Times in my back pocket for such an occasion as I can sprint up behind someone and nonchalantly pass them reading the business section.
