    ONEMAN (502/Rinse.Fm)

    You may have heard of Oneman for being 502 Recordings main man, 502 of course being home to Fis-T and his monster Nighthunter EP as well as other newcomers Jay Weed & Teeth. You may have heard of him for his infamous Rinse FM Sunday night show which seems to lock down their servers on a regular basis as well as compiling the most recent Rinse mix CD. Or you may remember the legendary Standard Place nights at which he resides, which are currently making a comeback in a big way. Labelled as the DJ's DJ by many respected figures. You have to see it believe it, after all where would you see the latest moody dubs mixed into Kelis or the new Jamie XX riddled with 50 Cent lyrics?

    Calling yourself “Jackmaster” is nothing if not audacious, but Jack Revill lives up to the name with a fast, furious style of mixing that sets him apart—and helped him earn DJ Mag‘s Breathrough DJ award in 2010.

    Something else setting him apart is his commitment to DJing: unlike the vast majority of selectors on the scene, he hasn’t much ventured into production, preferring to focus all his energies on the decks and the dancefloor. As he told Fabric’s blog, “The reason that I’m not really producing music is because I just think that at the moment, I’d be doing it for the wrong reasons. You shouldn’t make music with the objective of furthering your career as a DJ, or to become famous. Too many people are doing that these days I think. I’ll make music when I feel that I need to do it as a means of expressing myself. I don’t think you could ever call me a heads DJ. It’s always been about the party for me and I think that’s really come through in the mix.”
