On average how long do orthotics last

    Hi all,

    I think i have about 1000 miles on my orthotics i got about 2 years ago and am wondering how long are they good for ?

    I'm currently 16 stone so they get a nice pounding when i'm running with thembiggrin.gif

    I'm getting small pains in my lower legs ( nothing major or like what i had before the orthotics ) and am changing my runners anyway but am wondering if the orthotics could be coming towards the end of their life as well

    Could be. Mine lasted about 2 years. One trick a podiatrist taught me was to put them on a level surface and see if they were steady or rocked easily.

    N.B. That worked for me because of what my orthotics do for me. To do a similar test you'd need to know what yours do for you and check to see if it's still doing it fully.

    N.B.B. The pains I got when my orthotics were in need of replacement were not the same as what caused me to get them in the first place.

    Same here.......

    I might give them a call where i got them and see what they say.
