Saw the ad below on dd a while age and thought they might suit me as I keep my car in a shed which is well dry and well ventilated. As a result of this my car very quickly gets covered in dust etc which is blown in through the vents. This means that the car needs to be washed every time I take it out.
I thought that one of these might solve my problem but wanted to know if anyone here had used them and what you thought on them are.
    All comments appreciated.

I've no experience of these, but I've a Carcoon and I highly recommend Carcoons.

Using an indoor Carcoon for last two years, no problems. Can be a bit slow for removing car and can discourage the odd 'quick spin' up the road on a nice dry evening. If I was buying again would buy model with supporting hoops (something like a tent), which makes regular access much easier.Nothing worse than having car zipped up in Carcoon & fully inflated, then remembering you left phone in glovebox!
Another plus is that car looks really good (nice gloss) behind the clear plastic. Carcoon also has trickle charger which means battery always ready to go, and in case of power loss fans will run from car battery.

cool, sounds like these carcoons are a better job than these things on done deal. That probably accounts for the greater cost. Where did you buy yours? did you order it from their website?

I have a carcoon one, its handy for long term storage over the winter and that, and it keeps the car very dry asnd free of damp, and will also dry it if it is damp, if the windows are down a bit.

It does take up a good bit of space though when its inflated, and they are awkward for frequently used cars, I would imagine lots of people buy them, use them a few times then never bother with again.

Try a dust cover first, for what you need it would be a lot easier and cheaper

I would just be afraid that a cover would keep the damp trapped under it.. Do porous dust covers exist???

Yea, you can get what is called a breathable cover, there are loads of different covers on the market, and ones designed specifically to deal with damp and condensation. Wind blowing in at a car with a cover on can be a problem though, as the cover can rub on the car and mark the paint, so bare that in mind

ive got a car capsule, it was pretty good, does the same thing as the carcoon, it kept the moisture out, the fans stopped working on mine and were quickly replaced by the company....i couldnt fault them in anyway plus they are an irish company.....:D... i stopped using it because i bought a framed tent from hamiltonclassics which means its quick n easy to get in n out with the car...

the problem i find with all these tents is that you are never told how bloody wide it is when blown up...they can be a bit poxy when your confined to a single garage id say .....
