    Hiya folks.

Am looking at an 03 Galaxy in the Uk and someone raised a point with it.

Is it normal for an 03 car, with 120k miles on it, to have a new drive shaft?

The timing belt is done and I havent done a motorcheck yet, but someone I mentioned it to was suspicious of the shaft. Anyone got any views on it.

AND, has anyone got any pointers on the Ford Galaxies in general. Its the 130bhp model, Ghia.

    Thanks all

The driveshafts give loads of trouble on them. So it would be very common for a car with 120k on it to have a new or pretty new shaft in it.

Are you also in the UK or is that a galaxy far far away?

Its in the uk near an airport.

The VRT calculator seems to think its 147 bhp and 176g co/

The v5 says its 130 bhp and 170g.

So what happens when you come to vrt it. Anyone know what line the NCT takes with it in this case?

Trying to cover all the angles. Done a motorcheck on it and everything seems square.

Now got to do the maths, sterling, flight, diesel, ferry, nct and vrt to see the true cost. He is looking for 3600 sterling. MMMM, if I could get it for 3k, I should be able to clear it for about 5K. Thats about 2k cheaper than whats available here for a high specced ghia.

    Any thoughts folks?

They go by what is on the V5 document. Maybe you are entering the wrong varient in the VRT calculator.
