Thought I'd dig up this thread rather than start a completely brand new one. I've decided to upgrade to a Road Bike from Hybrid and am in the very early stages of looking at options. I thought I had come across most names until I saw Corratec this evening. I've looked through recent threads and seems like a few people ask about them but no one has answered. Does anyone own one and are they decent bikes? I'm looking to spend around € 1,000 on my new bike and this one is on budget and has those 105 gears (which I gather are good from my very basic knowledge).

Had a look on their website and quite like the look of this one which is different colour to the Eurocycles website.

Ouch that looks expensive! Sorry I was actually hijacking your old thread to get opinions from anyone else who might know about these bikes as I'm hoping to move to a road bike soon! Did you ever try out the Corratec and how was it?

Expensive but helped along by a CTW and a trade in.

I didn't try out the Corratec in the end. Couldn't really find that much about them and that did it for me. Since I posted this I decided to go for full carbon.

The Izalco won Bike of the Year and given my limited knowledge of bikes it was a safe bet.

It will be interesting to see how long it takes to get it.

i have a corratec corones ultegra which i got from Euro cycles for 1299 last year. Same colorings as the one pictured it was a special addition. They are now €1999. Euro cycles told me it was that price because corratec were trying to get a foothold in the irish market.

Its a great bike can't speak highly enough of it! they sold a lot of them when on sales as far as i know!

I bought a corratec Forcia Ca+ (aluminium carbon combo) a couple of months back. It was on sale and I did the bike to work on it so got it for around 1200 which is a big reduction given it originally retailed at 2400.

I have an old full carbon lapierre and to be honest the corratec is as good if not better in terms of feel. Might be a touch heavier than others but a decent set of wheels will sort it out.

I agree that there is very little info out there for corratecs but the spec sold me as it came with Ultegra groupset and top finishing components. They should probably try to get there bikes reviewed a bit more in the bike mags...

I have the RT Dolomiti with 105s. 2011 model. Love it. Great bike. Only thing I needed to do was put on an extra roll of bar tape. The original tape was a little bit thin causing a lot of buzz. They may have improved that on more recent models. Guy in Eurocycles in Drogheda told me last weekend that Corratec is now one of their best selling makes. I'm always on the look out for them but haven't spotted too many on the road. Take care with the size if buying.
