    Hi folks,

I have some orange rusty coloured brake dust desposits forming on the inside of my alloy wheel.

Any recommendations on what product to use to remove this? Looks like its pretty stuck on.

Did you try just jet washing it off? I find that removes most of it from my alloys.
Otherwise a good brush and bucket of soapy water should do the trick.

    Good idea.

I have tried to rub some of it off with a cloth- and also to scrape it off. But it was a half arsed attempt with the wheel still on. Will tackle it properly this weekend.

Astonish Wheel Cleaner, I buy it in Mr Price for €1.49 and It's the best stuff iv ever used.

Get a wheel brush and normal tooth brush, take the wheel off and put it on a normal traffic cone and work away.

Do NOT use any of the suggestions above.
Get yourself a bottle of Carpro IronX.
Clean your wheels without damaging them this way.

It is similar to a Gilette..
"The best a man can get" :D

    Seriously though.. Amazing stuff.
Will not remove tar but brake dust and contaminants like that it simply eats them up

Another recommendation for Iron X, it's simply magical stuff.

Pick up a bottle of this while you are at it.
Excellent for regular washing of wheels, keeps them nice a clean

Best to pick up a wheel wax as well to protect them but to be honest a regular rub of car polish will offer some protection.

At 15 euro online that ironx spray seems pretty reasonable. I suppose a bottle lasts a long time?

How long is a piece of string?

I suppose it would depend on how bad your wheels are. They may require a second run.
Still. Excellent value for what you end up with

If using on paintwork, as well as alloys, you would probably use at least half a 500ml bottle at a time, maybe more depending on wheel design. It will remove all but the really stubborn deposits. There is another similar product made in the North, called Iron Cleanse, which does much the same job.

Have you a link for this company?

Saw something from them I might be interested
