Looking to upgrade the car shortly :

Mileage : Approx 20000- 25000 miles a year, majority of which is motorway driving.

As everyone else, looking for decent fuel economy and around the year 2010 mark, so i guess its a diesel choice ?

Had been looking online/gargages at the new Toyota Avensis and Opel Inisgnia but dont think my budget will stretch for a 2010/2011 model.
Good/bad choice ?

Also whats the bargaining power in a garage now off the listed price for a used car ? Much of a discount to be had.

Any advice or pointers greatly appreciated
