I'm rying to locate a motor bike rider who has experience of carrying a photographer during a bike race. I know there are 2 or 3 that go with gthe Ras every year. Would appreciate it if anyone had contact details.

Thanks for that - just to explain I have no problem getting a motor bike and rider but I am looking for someone that has specific experience of carrying a photographer during a race. You need to be able to get in quite close and move along the peleton without causing any interference with the race.

Killalanerr here has a lot of experience as a moto marshal on bike races.
Otherwise the best bet might be to contact the Ras organisers to see if they will give you some contact details.

It's for an event in April, I will be photographing the event myself, have plenty of experience of sports photography but have only photographed bike races from a static position or from a following car which is not ideal.

    Absolutely and thanks for asking.

In the meantime if you go to www.visitnenagh.net and click on the album I have some there though quite a few are just standard publicity shots. I also have some on a flickr account though not all are cycling shots:

It takes a good while to build a bond between pillion and rider even without the pillion hanging off trying to take photos. Have you had much experience being a passenger?

Point taken, the event is on April 22nd hence making early contact, it is issues like this I need to discuss. Also I am not planning to cover the entire event from the bike. I am in particular targetting a long straight stretch which would alllow me to travel with the peleton. Thanks.
