Driving home this evening I noticed a service oil message flashing on the dash. No warning lights or anything else. Serviced about 6 weeks ago, passed nct 4 weeks ago. 2001 1l. Anyone have any ideas?

Passing the NCT is irrelevant to servicing.

What service notice came up before you had it serviced last time?

If, like too many, you just had it serviced because the NCT was coming up then chances are they didn't reset the service interval as it wasn't showing at the time.

As per Nissan Doctor - the service interval indicator hasn't been reset. Although any service outlet should have had the brains to reset the service indicator.

The normal service indicator came up prior to me getting it serviced. I know the nct has nothing to do with servicing but thought it might be relevant if the oil service message was indicative of something serious. The service indicator seemed to have been reset as this is the first time this or any message has come up since it was serviced. Hoped it was just a service indicator but wanted confirmation from the gurus here. Cheers!!
