basic but decent HDD recorder?

I'm looking for a decent HDD recorder but I don't need anything high spec as this is just for casual recording/viewing (I have a separate cinema setup for serious viewing).

One factor that's important... the TV this will go to is a Phillips "Matchline" CRT and while it doesn't have the specs of the "bells & whistles" modern TVs it has an incredible picture and there's no reason at all to upgrade it. It can take RGB scart or, with an adaptor, composite so the recorder must be compatible in its output.

Anything gathering dust in the storeroom? :D

    Hi Slaphead,

Thanks for getting in touch and apologies about the delay in getting back to you.

I've nothing in open box unfortunately.

Check out this LG DVD recorder. Got a 160GB HDD and has a scart output so should work grand. :)

This is a 'In Store Only' purchase so would need to be collected in Belfast.

Let me know what you think.

    Chris

    Thanks Dave,
I may have found a s/h one (an slighter older LG as it happens!) but if that falls through I'll try and get to Belfast. Leave it with me and thanks again.

Thanks for the reply but I have since gotten that S/H LG. I'll be back when I need a new AV AMP!
