I know I am probably being stupid here but I am just querying is tax involved when a company says they will give you 27k a year ie. on jobs.ie. Is this 27k after tax? Also if they say 15 eur per hour is this also after tax?

    Cheers!

Companies are generally referring to the gross figure unless otherwise stated.

Your tax contribution/ specifics can sometimes vary depending on your personal situation.

    Cheers!

When a company advertises an hourly rate eg. 15 eur per hour is this gross or net pay?

It's always gross [before tax]. You can use this to see what you will get yearly, monthly, weekly, daily, hourly, etc NET [after tax]

So for your €27k a year, unless you have special circumstances, you can generally come out with [after tax]

    Year : €22k
    Monthly : €1906
    Weekly : €440
    Daily : €88
    Hourly : €11
    Per minute :) : €0.183

Just for info, to get a yearly amount out of an hourly one, multiply it by 2080

Hourly rate * 8 for daily rate * 260 for yearly [Generally only 260 working days in a year, based on 5 days a week]

So €15 hourly would work out at €31200 yearly

    ALWAYS gross, before tax.

    Cheers man!

Ive been offered an interview for a job tomorrow and they are offering 11 eur per hour. If this was after tax Id go for it but the distance I have to travel for the interview alone it aint worth it. I know its an opportunity for a job though :o

Are you taking into account tax credits and exemptions?

Absolutely not. Just extracting tax. Credits etc would be dependent on the individual.
But thanks, I did forget to mention that.
