People who diss the LOI

I think people who diss the LOI fall under a certain bracket, i.e shocking footballers themselves. The better you are, the more you appreciate how good some of the players in the LOI are. I trained with Stephen Bradley for a bit(now of Limerick) the lad was just quality, he could do things with the ball, you would think would be reserved to the likes of Xavi. Daryl Kavanagh another one, absolutely unreal footballer. It really annoys me when fat losers say the loi is ****, when there is actually proper quality in the league. People really underestimate the talent. Whatever about how entertaining the league is, or individual matches, there is loads and loads of quality players in the league.

In fairness, I support the LOI, and I'm a terrible footballer :)

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

It's a well known fact that the loi terraces are awash with serious ballers.

Is it really a well known fact?

Theres ****e players in the league as well as good players, much like every league across the world TBH.

Also, some people support and follow local leagues and teams and some support the bigger teams from the better known leagues abroad.

I don't watch LOI, but don't diss it, but without wanting to play devil's advocate and open a can of worms, if these players were really quality and capable of Xavi-esque skills, then would they not have attracted interest from big clubs or at least have been selected for the Irish national team?

Football's not really a business like music where you can be shít and make a fortune or have amazing talent and have to work a second job to get by...

It's the hardest working and most of all the most talented that rise to the top... I'm not trying to diss LOI but if these lads were really special, really quality, they would not be earning 1000e or less a week.

7 of the current ROI squad played LOI football.

Plenty of very talented players dont make it for one reason or the other, the likes of Keith Fahey failed miserably in England first time around but was fortunate to be able to come home and then get a second shot.

    Yes, emphasis on played...

They were good enough to be snapped up by bigger clubs in higher quality leagues...

Look as I said, I'm not having a go at LOI, I'm just stating that the OP is clearly exaggerating and overstating the level of quality in the LOI.

The fact that Shamrock Rovers making it to the Europa League was seen as a miracle, and then they failed to gain a single point, shows the level of quality that the LOI is. That does not make them top top quality players, and it's ridiculous to compare their ability to the likes of Xavi
