    This is the list
    http://www.saorview.ie/products-retailers/saorview-approved-product-listings/

If it's not Saorview certified you can't be sure it's compatible and will really work properly.

ALL Saorview and "Freeview HD" boxes do MHEG5, MPEG4. MPEG2, MP2 and AAC.

Thanks, do you mean freeview hd boxes should be fine even if doesn't have saorview certificate which it probably won't anyhow due to being for the UK market.

No they don't. Some might, but some have problems with certain functions like GMT in the summer and logical channel numbers, plus some hidden things we have not been bitten by yet.

I love all this talk of 'hidden things' and extra features... It has MHEG 5, and is MPEG4 so it does work.

    Some not completely.

There can be a problem with Summertime. Also they will not get OTA upgrades. Most won't do Teletext. There may be other issues.

You have the UK D-Book spec to see the differences?

If you can pickup N.I., IOM or Wales, then an "Freeview HD" box is a good idea. Otherwise get Saorview certified.

Unless you have a Lab and have tested every "Freeview HD" model of box against the Nordig Spec you can't make that "too sweeping" statement.

I know you want to be helpful, but often you seem assert stuff without any facts to back it up.
