Thats it I have had it.l I have worked nearly 6 years in the company I am in and want to quit as the stress is killing me and the constant unrealistic expectations. I have the wheels in motion starting my own company (web design). I expect that I will get my months pay + holiday money. After that dries up i dont expect much cash will be coming through the house apart from my wifes income.

Am I entitles and sort of benefit while my company is in its infancy? I hardly expect I am still entitled to JSA? Can the more knowledgeable advise please?

What do you mean still get JSA? Are you in receipt of JSA at the minute? If so, and if you have been in receipt of it for 12 months, you can apply for Back to Work Enterprise Allowance.

    http://www.welfare.ie/EN/Schemes/JobseekerSupports/BackToWork/EnterpriseAllowance/Pages/ea.aspx

If you give up a job voluntarily, then you may find yourself disqualified from a Jobseekers payment in any event.

You can continue to receive Jobseekers and be self employed, as long as you are still looking for and available for full-time work. http://www.welfare.ie/EN/Schemes/JobseekerSupports/Pages/selfempjajb.aspx

Sorry when I said "still", i mean could i still get it even if I quit. So basically I cant get the allowance if I quit...****. Really dont like this position. I might just take the risk regardless.

why dont you sign on when you finish the job until you are up and running at least you will have some income coming in and then might be entitled to back to work allowance or get a grant from the enterprise board - look into it a little bit more. there could be a grant available to help you.

The OP could find it difficult to establish a Jobseekers claim if he has left his job voluntarily. They will look into the circumstances and if he can persuade them that it was the reasonable thing to do, then a disqualification may not be imposed, but he will have to persuae them that he is genuinely seeking work.

OP may be disqualified from receiving jsb. It is up to the deciding officer to establish the length of time of disqualification. If OP is disqualified for 9 weeks he will be put in payment after the disqualification period and if on jsb he can apply for short term enterprise allowance (STEA) straight away with a business plan. STEA will run for the period of his JSB.

He cant sign on if he leaves his employment of his own volition.

He can if the deciding officer (or appeals officer) considers that his leaving was with good cause.

Or better offer yourself for voluntary redundancy... Maybe option if you are in the right industry .. (or the wrong depending on your point of view.)

you're obviously very stressed with your job
go to your doctor and tell him, he might give you medication and 52 or more weeks off on illness benefit.
