Spanish-speaking psychoanalyst

    Hi,

    I am trying to find a native Spanish-speaking psychoanalyst. I have been seeing one back in Argentina years ago, and I would like to start again now that I live in Dublin.

    I know it sounds like a weird request, but since my native language is Spanish, I doubt I could successfully express myself in therapy in English.

    Probably none of these are listed in the official institutions, because of the same language issue, so maybe here somebody knows some psy expat?

    Hello Tincho

    You'd have to ask the main psychoanalytic organisations (some of whom are in the Irish Council of Psychotherapies) or PSI for psychologists who are psychoanalytically inclined. I'm presuming it is an analyst you are looking for rather than another kind of psychotherapy? Check the sticky threads for links to the different organisations.

    The APPI is organisation you need. If you have not sorted anyone yet, send me a PM and I send you their contact persons number.

    All we can do is suggest organisations we cannot suggest individual therapists, I think the APPI would be the organisaion for you as it has links with South America analysts.

    Thanks Odysseus, I could not find a directory on the website, but I've sent them a message, hope they reply.

    Julius: thanks for the data too. I have checked PSI, but there is no evidently Spanish-looking name I could find in the directory. I will try mailing them if the APPI does not help me.

    Sound the directory is only for members, IIRC. Anyway if nobody gets back to you give me a shout and I'll pass you on some numbers.
