my mate uses this trail camera and finds it great. He has both types one with a little viewer inside it and one without. Great little bit of kit. I seen photos and videos from it and they are great at day or night. I use a stealth cam find it ok bit slow to take pics and victim the shutter speed is slow but great picture too. They can be got in most gun shops or online. I got mine from e bay anyway. Hope it helps

    Hello,
Was wondering how these operate at night,
Can it be clicking away taking night vision pics without the person in front of it knowing?
Suitable for catching someone nicking firewood? Lol

the one i have only has a little IR red light that barely flashes ya wouldnt notice it at all
if ya didnt no the camera was there
the light is needed to take the picture in complete darkness

takes both night and day time pics as well as videos in day and night
ya can also set it to take one pic when triggered or 3

it can also be set at random intervals just take pics once a minute etc

right bit of kit if ya ask me

You can bet some makes and models with 'black' IR illuminators, invisible to humans. I use an LTL Acorn and the night shots are great, and the IR can't be seen. Visible IR illuminators will get your camera nicked.

Get a trail camera that is MMS, SMS or Email compatible and it will send you pictures of the thief while he's taking the camera.
Won't totally solve your problem I know but having pictures of a thief is better then nout.

Great tips there. It'll difinately be a future investment. I'm thinking the more secretive it is the better, don't want any lights whatsoever.
How do you conceal it where you put it up? Or do you lock it in a steel box and chain it to a tree?

Concealed is best. If you put it in a steel box, some one will shove a stick in and smash the camera.
