I was there about 3 weeks ago and the scree on the ladder is alot looser now than before so if there are a few of ye keep an eye for falling stones. at the top of the ladder the clay/stones is particularly slippy. enjoy

Come back down the zig zags. Safer than descending back down the ladder and makes it more of a loop walk.

I went up (and down) the Devil's Ladder climbing Carrauntoohil last Sunday. To be honest, I'm going to avoid it next time. Going up was fine, there was plenty of loose scree, but it was manageable. Coming down, however, was pretty treacherous. I kept to the sides where possible, but I still landed on my ass a couple of times, and it was dicey. Bring a pole.
