Im ignorant, so I shall seek the experts advice...

we have Sky in the living room courtesy of a shared apartment dish (we can't have access to it, so we can't fiddle with the settings/ add things to it). We would need to put a dish on the balcony (recessed, rather than jutty-outty).

However, I'd like something for the bedroom; our tv in the bedroom has a Freeview tuner (I moved from the UK), and currently all I have connected up is a Boxee, so I'm reduced to watching web tv.

I'm from NZ, so I'd like some Kiwi or Aussie channels if at all possible. Otherwise I'd settle for English speaking channels (Irish, British, American, I'm not fussy). The hubby would like F1 and some Polish channels maybe (he's Polish, seven years here).

I've seen a €79.95 deal in Lidl (Silvercrest), but some of thoughts on boards.ie aren't great. I don't want to spend a fortune as we're renting, but the husband is handy with his hands so should be able to install it.

So experts, I bow to your collective wisdom

Polish TV yes maybe not with that dish though. I dont think theres any chance of Aussie TV.
Is the balcony facing the same direction as the shared dish? Are there any obstructions ie other builldings trees etc?

Firstly DON'T waste money on Lidl dishes. If you are on a budget check adverts.ie and you might pick up a bargain.

Make sure your balcony is facing SouthEast. For English language tv you need 28.2e but Polish tv is on a different satellite so a multi lnb setup is your best bet & not as tricky as it sounds.
All the F1 is being shown live on German tv FTA on RTL.;)

It's easy enough to hide a dish on a balcony.

BTW the only Aussie tv you are gona see is Neighbours or Home & Away on 5.
