Just wondering if any of you use/ ever used Timeform and if it is worth getting?

I have my own program that gets course, ground, distance & jockey form for each horse along with their highest rating, current rating, heaviest carried to victory and weight for this race, will Timeform give more?

    Thanks :)

What exactly are you looking for hucklebuck?

Timeform can be useful but being honest I don't use it much. The race comments can prove useful.

I'm not a ratings man though.

Thanks PJ, I am just wondering if it is worth getting. I know they have comments for each runner but given what my own form programme gives is there still value in getting Timeform?

    Ta.

Attheraces website give timeform comments on all horses and also Timeform selections for 1st 2nd 3rd , Timeform is quite expensive and the ratings they give are usually pretty much the same as racing post ratings which are free, you can get timeform per race so perhaps do this and see for yourself what benefits there are.

I wouldnt bother paying for it hucklebuck all the info you need is out there in different locations! a combination of timeform free irishracing.ie and attheraces.com are sufficient for looking up info about a horse!

Cheers guys, I was wondering as I know the pro punters seem to use it so I was wondering if it gave anything extra.

I like their 50 to follow book for the NH season

Rarely but it but have often been put off backing a horse that I've seen has acres to find on their ratings (most have subsequently lost) or had more on a horse when I've seen either Timeform or RP ratings have it a mile clear

Cheers Colonel. I was going through a shocking patch and was wondering what help I could get but I am starting to find the winners now.

Just in time for the festival :D

Anyone know of any good sites that cover Irish racing? Free preferably but I'm willing to pay for good ones. I looked at Timeform race passes as they cover Irish racing too but it's €80 a month! No way that's feasible for me especially because I'm not interested in UK racing in flats or jumps...just Irish racing. If you were doing €10LSP then you would already be -8LSP down lol I'd love to just stick with flats but I think with Irish racing you have to do both.

Majority of my bets would be Irish flat or bad e ws on maiden hurdles or bumpers. I use IrishRacing.com for studying form (computer site mobile is awful). I don't pass any heed of tips tbh but I do read them just in case I've missed something about a horse that they highlight. Irish racing has a preview at the top of each race which isn't bad in fairness. I'd always read timeforms free one. Unreal how clued up they are though for a grand a year it would want to be

Thanks Peintre Celebre for the reply that was very helpful. I will check out that IrishRacing site. Yeah I was thinking for the price of timeform they must be unreal in terms of resources.

I have a set of Timeform flat annuals from 1955 to 2007. My interest is flat horse pedigree and I find these an invaluable reference.
