So back in December i got a call from a recruitent agent asking could they put my cv forward for a fantastic job(there was a number of jobs and i was told they were making a panel). Of course i said yes but really didnt expect to hear anything from them.

Anyway mid jan i got a call saying they wanted me to go for an aptitude test 4 days later!!! anyway i go to the aptitude test and get a call from the recruitment agent saying i was successful and i was going to the next round of interviews and group evaluation. I didnt think i did well BUT 2 days later i was told that i was in the top 3 candidates!!! Now heres the thing that was 2 weeks ago and i havent heard anything since!!!

Now i did ring the recruitment agency last week and she said these things can move slowly and she would let me know when she knows anything. I do no ive to do a backround check, medical and reference job before an offer will be made but why is it taking so long?? Is 2 weeks a normal waiting period?

So what do yee boardsies think?? Im currently in a badly paid job that i hate and i desperatly want this job and i know i can do it!! All advice appriciated

Sorry but I think the agency is BSing you and stringing you along just in case the other candidate(s) turn down the job. On the flip side there's nothing you can really do except wait and apply for other jobs.

    Hi All,

Here's my situation: I applied for entry level Job A ten months ago for a large social media company. However, the recruiter at that time referred me to a different job position instead, we'll call Job B. When it came down to the interview though, I didn't get Job B because I didn't have enough experience (which is exactly why I applied for Job A!).

Four months later, the Social Media Company contacted me directly saying they had another job they think would be a good fit, let's call Job C. I went through the interview again and was contacted through Recruiter 1 (it was a different Recruiter for the first time around). Recruiter 1, assured me that I had enough experience this time (even though it said on the description that it required 3 years experience). But of course, when it came down to the face to face interview, it was deemed that I didn't have enough experience. Shocker.

Three months later, I decided to bypass contacting the recruiters at the company directly and contact someone I knew there who referred me directly for Job A, the one I originally wanted. Luckily they were recruiting for that position again. I got a phone interview and spoke to Recruiter 1 as I did a few months ago and she remembered me. So much so, that I wasn't even interviewed on the phone, she was just telling me about the position and set up an in person interview with me for the following week.

The interview went fantastic the people that interviewed me were lovely- they made me feel right at ease and we got on famously. The person who referred me has referred four other people in the company and two of which received promotions. That interview was three days ago. I guess...well what are my chances of getting hired this time??

    Thanks. I'm getting so anxious!
