peppercorn steaks use by today 18feb12

I bought some peppercorn steaks earlier on in the week and left them in the fridge, the use by date is today 18feb12. Do you think it would be ok to eat them today?

I'd say they're grand, and will be for another while, but you're the only one who can decide from the smell, colour. Use by and best before are usually way out.

As long as you have stored them in a safe & appropriate manner the product use-by date would still be applicable.
