What self respecting horse racing forum doesn't have a thread dedicated to Black Caviar.

She's absolutely incredible. 19 wins from 19 starts. Can't understand how people still doubt her!

    9 G1s
    7 G2s
    2 Listed
    1 Hc (debut)

Hay List, who she beat this morning has won

    2 G1s
    2 G2s
    2 G3s

And would have won his last 6 in a row if he wasn't racing againt HER. 2nd to HER in his last 4 losses.

I have heard his jockeys say that he is as good as any of the best Aussie sprinters they have ridden and they have ridden the best. Glen Boss has ridden over 50 G1 winners including Makybe Diva, Starcraft, So You Think, Choisir, Haradasun.

Best horse ever? Under rated compared to Frankel? Are we prejudice to Frankel?

    Maybe.

    Incredible record.

    Is she coming to Ascot?

Wat are the chances of her going to the Queen Anne instead. Was talks of her stepping up to 1mile to take on Frankel. He run last weekend over 7f was very impressive.

Pretty sure i read somewhere the trainer said he will be staying in Australia another year. Also said connections to Frankel know where he is if wants to race him. Although read that a few months ago would love to see the race.

    She.

And she is def coming to Ascot most likely for the Sprint series but it would be great if she went to the Queen Anne

The plan is definitely to come to Ascot this year.

Harry Findlay has made some serious money off this horse.

You have to appreciate that she was racing for the second time in as many weeks and still beat a very capable horse.

    There's no doubting her.

Is she a hurdler or chaser?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think she's a hurdler. She's a full sister to a nice hurdler called Johnny Owen

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 436 ✭✭Huntey

If she can't jump a hurdle or fence she doesn't deserve a thread.

Bring this Caviar fella around Cheltenham for 2 miles and up the hill.....

    Flat horses........ meh!!!:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,408 ✭✭✭ft9

Seriously though whats the crack with this horse, like how good is it?

Compared to Frankel say? I'm not up on the flat scene at all, but is there any chance we will see the 2 of them against each other? Or is that just ridiculous?

Lol, would have loved if you owned Sea The Stars, straight into a 2m hurdle race in Cork....

Be nothing at all wrong with that if he'd win

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

Not a chance will we see them face each other I reckon

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,408 ✭✭✭ft9

Why so? Are their trips completely different or just the Geography issue? I honestly have not got a clue about the flat game

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

It has been said for a long time that Frankel would be going for 10 furlongs this year.

If he were to face her it'd be over a mile in the Queen Anne. Firstly that'd be against his plans, secondly she has only raced over distances between 5 to 7 furlongs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,408 ✭✭✭ft9

Who'd win anyway if they did race?

I'm going on the beer now in a min need something to spoof about

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

It'd be hard to say. She'd be stretched I'd say

She won her 2nd last race over 7f. It was run at a bit of a dawdle pace, considering one time AOB inmate/derby contender Midas Touch was in the field you'd have thought they'd have tried to stretch her. I'd ignore todays win, 3 runs in 3 weeks is the sort of ridiculous thing they do down under.

A mile would be a strech no doubt esp if Frankel went off like a scalded cat in front but i'm sure all they'll have been working on with him is getting him to settle.

Agreed that the whole point of him coming back as a 4yo is for a 1mile2f campaign as he has nothing to prove over a mile however if it was his seasonal debut (presuming Breeders Cup Classic is end of year target) then it might not be beyond the realms of possible for him to start over a mile.

Is it really so hard for people to stay on topic and not actually start to insult one another? There's no problem with people not agreeing with each other, but if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't bother posting.

If you've any suggestions or queries re the forum, then PM me.

Purely on eye test I'd have to say Black Caviar would win in a race against Frankel but then Im wondering what sort of horses it is running against down under. Are the horses Frankel has been destroying better than those Black Caviar has?

Sadly it looks like a meeting at Royal Ascot won't happen which is a damn shame. I think the owners of both need to get together and arrange a meeting. The fans of horse racing deserve to see it!

I dont think anyone doubts her.Shes beaten teh majority of her rivals in australia so its getting abit boring bring her to ascot and you will have my attention!i have watched her closely for her first 17 wins havent seen the last two though. There was talk of her running this weekend again which i thought was risky ..shes a superb horse there is no point in running her to often with the chance of her been turned over due to fatigue!it was announced today that she is to be rested for ascot

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37 takeone92

Also i think its an advantage for black caviar being run throughout our winter!Frankel maycomeback even better as hes still extremely young and alway improving!but who knows what the reulst would be if they raced! My money would without a doubt be on frankel though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 295 ✭✭mccarte2

What quality of races has she been running? Have they been high quality or has it been like Zenyatta running against middling handicappers in mares only races?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

I'd say they are a bit below your typical G1's up here. Her 2nd last run over 7f had a number of Melbourne Cup hopefuls who didnt try test her stamina.

If you remember Midas TOuch from Aidan O'Brien couple years back. He was one of the main opposition.

Melbourne Cup hopefuls running in a 7f race? Hardly screams class does it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,838 ✭✭✭Nulty

She beat Star Witness by 4l over 6f giving him 7lbs in a G1 handicap.

Sure he was better on better ground but thats a difference of 15-20lbs over that distance

Her rating is at least accurate and maybe underrated but then so might Frankels

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,702 ✭✭✭tryfix

She is a 6yo, could she be running out of steam a bit. She won't need to be at her best to beat the best British sprinters, but I think she has hit her peak and it's downhill from here albeit from a very high summit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

She looked very good 2 races back, her last win was much closer but you'd have to say that the races were much too close together.

She also dropped from her first time going over 7 furlongs down to 5 furlongs thats a huge difference and beat a top class Aussie sprinter who has a few Grade 1's to his name. Any time the Aussies send a sprinter over they have to be watched and feared no matter what they've done in Australia or how well known they are over here.

Confirmed she will miss this weekends race and also miss the Dubai Golden Shaheen Sprint and will have 1 more run in possibly May before coming over to Royal Ascot.

I'm trying no to get my hopes up so much as the last time i did that was for Overdose and well he just disappointed when he finally made it too England

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

They had originally planned to send overdose 2 years before he came but injury intervened. Pity, would have been great to see him in the prime.

When they say the Golden Shaheen was a no go?

Black Caviars half-sister sold for Aus $2.6m. Her 2yo half-brother All Too Hard won two GP2s from 2 starts so far.

    http://bloodstock.racingpost.com/news/bloodstock/black-caviar-half-sister-makes-2-6-million/1013838/
Full-brother to So You Think (NZ) withdrawn from Easter Sale, the colt has
been diagnosed as a wobbler. Is there any hope for the colt or is he a lost cause?

The wonder mare strikes again, absolutely blitzing her rivals in a canter down under last night.

Will she come back over for Royal Ascot this year I wonder?

Some animal! It's a shame she didn't show her best at Ascot. Hopefully she'll be back!

What a mare! Would love to see her back at Royal Ascot again this year, although I highly doubt she'll be returning.
How many more races can she win? :pac:

Sprinter Sacre would beat her on the bridle.

Owner this morning"The only way she will go to Royal Ascot is to see Frankel,no Frankel no Royal Ascot".
