Yellow Road Surface

Recently they completed road works in Annacotty Limerick, but they seem to be putting that yellow crap down on the road at the roundabouts.

Question is, does it actually do anything? And whenever I see it put down it never lasts that long? Does it even effect your braking?

I think it's just meant to be noisy in order to encourage people to slow down.

If you mean this high friction surface:

    images?q=tbn:ANd9GcT1Zzpx1nnR06cb8iV8vITkjZSg8X7mmSD92Cbm2aNWC2YShwJD

then yes it does help braking/tyre grip, especially in wet and slippery conditions.

It does wear away and needs to be maintained.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

Is there a reason why it wears away so quickly or is not applied enough in the first place. In some cases it is a red colour

    Yes, it's high friction!
