Connecting Saorview STB to DVD recorder

I have a Triax 112 which is connected to the TV by HDMI.

The Triax has only 1 scart connection and it seems I can't connect a DVD recorder using this scart as it would override the HDMI.

    (2nd illustration down explains)

Just wondering will this always be the case with Saorview boxes? Or is there a new box planned in the near future that handles this?

You can connect the STB scart to the DVD recorder and the HDMI to the TV without problem.

What the diagram is referring to I believe is if both scart and HDMI are used to connect the STB to the TV, scart (pin 8) will auto switch the TV input to the scart connection unless scart pin 8 auto switching is disabled. If the scart connection is used for the DVD recorder it won't affect the HDMI input to the TV.
