I turned 30 a few months ago and recently I just feel so old when I go out. Any guy that I chat to seems so much younger than me and it's really beginning to get to me. I am single but a lot of the single men seem to be around 25 or 27. From a guy's point of view would you see me as to old if you were that age? I know it really depends on how mature they are etc. but if someone finds out you're 30 and immediately thinks your too old there's not much you can do there.
It also doesn't help that I'm mad about someone who is 27 and I keep thinking that he will not even look at me as he will think I'm old.

    Sorry for the long post.

Heya, just from my own point of view (33), you are certainly not too old. I have had a couple of LTR relationships with people that have been considerably older (8yrs older) than me. Its not an age thing, its a people thing. You either like them or you dont. Good hunting :)

I think if you're finding guys are younger than you and that's something you have a problem with, then you need to go to different places.
When I go out to the local night club I tend to meet younger men (I'm 29 - they tend to be 24-26). Doesn't bother me but it doesn't amount to much either.
There are certain pubs and clubs that are aimed at "older" people (30s and 40s). I'd take a look at the type of place you socialise and consider changing venue.

Really? you feel old at 30? I turned the big 40 at the end of last year and am single. The last guy I met was 27 and honestly it is all down to each individuals level of maturity and whether you are on the same page so to speak. I find it flattering getting chatted up by younger men, and they are all shocked when I tell them my age. Don't believe in lying about it. So enjoy your flirty 30's, have fun and just be your fantastic self no matter what age you are. My mum is in her 70's and honestly she acts like a teenager alot of the time and I just think thats great.

To answer your question op from the male perspective. Im 26 and see nothing at all wrong with dating a woman who is a few years older. Women date older men all the time so why cant we date older women? The guy you like is 27 thats a 3 year age difference, its nothing in all honesty. Stop worrying and just enjoy your life. Happiness is hard enough to find.

OP it's mad to think you believe 30 is old. I was quite frankly glad to see the back of my 20's. Im 32 now, 33 in a few months, and it wasn't until I hit my thirties that I finally felt confident in myself, and more settled and content.

If you'd rather date older men then change where you go in favour of somewhere that has a crowd for the age bracket you would like.

You said something about a 27 year old you like? Well there's nothing wrong with that whatsoever. As I said, I'll be 33 this year and my partner will be 30, so that's the same age gap. There are plenty about in relationships that have far bigger gaps.

You're seriously over thinking things. Accept your confident, content 30's, and go ask that guy out! :)

    Hi,

OP here. Thanks for all the replies, I see now that I was over thinking things. An age gap of a few years shouldn't make any difference. I feel much better now (and not so old). I will put that silly thought out of my head now. I do like talking to younger guys and the last few guys I have liked have all been a few years younger so now I will try and put it out of my head and enjoy.

    Thanks
