Heavy Mini clutch?

I know these have a heavier than most clutch but the 02 Mini one my girlfriend has is taking the pisss ;-) I have a E46 and I thought that was heavy enough but the Mini is like going to the gym! Is there any tips or aftermarket parts to lighten it up. It works fine, just too heavy.
