What's the story with the interfirms? Is it still being run and when?

I would like to enter a team

this used to be very big years ago.
but the GAA seem to be more interested in filling Croke Park and with payments to managers than running competitions that get ordinary people playing GAA sports!

to be honest, I think it has such little recognition for a reason, its way way down the list of GAA competitions. and it became farcical for years with firms bringing in ringers to line out for them.

The All-Ireland hurling final was postponed two weekends ago due to bad weather involving Kilkenny Secondary Teachers and Medronics ?? based in Galway so competition alive and well

Ya the interfirms is alive and well in Galway. Medtronic won the junior football final a few weeks ago in Cookstown, Tyrone. The Galway Gardai are in the senior Final vs the Prison officers from mountjoy. Medtronic have played the Galway Gardai three times in two years and have beaten them twice. So it should be a good Galway senior final next year. (Only two senior teams in Galway).

In the Hurling: Medtronic lost to the KK Teachers on Saturday night. Medtronic were the holders.

It's all a bit of fun and everyone here enjoys it.

Galway garda won 16 points to 7. That's two in a row for the boys in blue.

It's not so long ago that some interfirm teams were not far off top county standard, can't remember the exact firms involved but some were fierce strong, EMC in Cork have had a good few intercounty players recently, perhaps someone could post up some of the best teams of the past, it would be very interesting.

Dublin Fire Brigade used to field an exceptionally strong team, Charlie Redmond, Dave Foran, Gerry Hargan & Darren Honan all lined out for them
