Cancel insurance before the policy starts?

    Hi All,

Hope this is the right forum. I purchased insurance from Quinn and the policy is due to start tomorrow (Friday). Another insurance company have just come back to me with a premium of ~70e less and naturally I'd like to go with them.

I know Quinn have a cooling off period less an "admin" fee for cancellations in the first 14 days but technically my policy hasn't started yet. Has anyone here been in a similar situation and did you get the "admin" fee waived? Will be calling Quinn today so I'll surely find out from them too :)

Is the level of cover similar/better for the €70 less? (minus the admin fee if there is one)

That would be my only issue.. for the sake of a few quid quinn might be offering better cover. For what its worth.

    Hi,

I called them up during lunch and I got a full refund because the policy hadn't started yet. If I had done it tomorrow I would have been getting the same amount less their admin charge. The other policy has slightly better cover and covers using other vehicles also.
