    I seem to be getting 40/42 mpg for city driving does anyone know if this is correct average !?

    Seems extremely reasonable for urban driving to me.

    Cheers just when you read about 55/60 mph makes you wonder - must be motorway driving

    They would either be maximum MPG figures or average ones. City driving always returns the lowest MPG.

    Manufacturers stated figures are in alot of cases nothing but pie in the sky marketing and not real world figures.

    And diesels are at their most frugal on long runs, not doing city driving.
