    TECHNICAL:

    TV Reception System SDTV and HDTV (MPEG-4 AVC H.264), DVB-T with CI+. DVB-C. MHEG5. PAL / SECAM.

As far as i can see it is compatible but NOT CERTIFIED - i am simply going on what it says on the DID Website - i have never used it and cant guarantee anything - DID should be able to confirm if it is compatible - from what it says i believe it is

    TO BE PRECISE:

It says it supports DVB-T HD with MHEG5 with support for MPEG-4 AVC H.264 - in my opinion that is compatible - just not certified! If you buy it and it doesnt work you are WITHIN YOUR RIGHTS TO GET A REFUND as it is being sold as a TV and as such should be at least Irish DTT compatible if not certified.

id say you should be ok - in my opinion it is an Un-Certified yet Compatible TV

This seems to be the nearest certified in terms of Size/price :

I know its not FULL HD but its worth considering -

Only buy a certified set. Anything else is a mugs game now.

Also DID are poor at honouring their consumer obligations. So don't risk it.

I cant argue with what anyone has said here - they are correct and at this stage you are better off certified - its the only way to be sure moving forward...

It doesnt strike me as a great deal tbh - i know its relatively cheap for a full HD 28" screen, but you can get a 32" HD READY CERTIFIED 720P TV for 250euro

    http://www.powercity.ie/?action=laptopbacker&pcode=NM3296

and a FULL HD 1080P Certified TV for 347Euro

Its an LG which i would rate over Hanspree in my opinion -

But to be balanced - I reckon the Hanspree will work... it seems to tick all the boxes - the only situation that i can think of is if saorview launched a Multi Screen Option for sports - in that case, despite the MHEG5, the hanspree may not be sufficiant - that being said ... we just dont know - the hanspree is LED so i can see the attraction

If you can live with 720P HD ready id go for the 32" certified set - theres another walker model available slightly more expensive

Same problem with my other half - i solved it by almost insisting on a 37" and then i 'dropped' back to a 32.. I FEEL YOUR PAIN!:D

I told herself it was time to get a new tv a few months ago...told her our 28 was a bit small for the room ( actually 32) and that a 37inch would be nice, got a 42 inch....she's none the wiser.

42" 16:9 has so little bezel it easily replaces a 28" 4:3 CRT. IMO it's entry level HD for an average living room.
