If it came with a gui handicap, most definitely yes. Otherwise...it depends on how often you plan to play it, and if you have some mates to play it with. It's a high quality 9 holes, and Tramore is a cracking club, with plenty of life in the clubhouse.
I would imagine the Newtown nine gets fairly busy in the summer months, they appear to have a lot of juniors playing it. I've played the Friday open on the main course a few times, on those days there is a lot of overflow onto the Newtown course.

There was some talk recently of having a separate membership on the Newtown course, with GUI handicaps and its own weekend comps, that doesn't seem to be the case from the description.

Unfortunately it does not come with the GUI handicap. I have played there a few times and really like the newtown 9. I'm just wondering is it good value for money. I suppose the answer to that is how often will i play?

I'm a member in Tramore and the Newtown 9 are a very nice set of holes. The par 3 last is the nicest hole out of the 27.

It's a good offer for someone who's going to play it 20 or more times in the year. And I wouldn't worry about it being busy - the members always want the old course, practically all competitions are played on it. Even the Captains last year - played the old course, then the top 12 or so played 1 and 11-18. Why on earth not use the Newtown 9 for that!!!

Anyway, it's a high quality 9 in my view anyway.

That's about the size of it.

It's almost 40 weeks of a window, even if you got to play just nine holes once every week, it would appear to be very good value.

I have to agree with Blue Note, the last hole is a cracker, if the Captain's Prize was held on it, the tee shot would be very interesting for the guy with a 1 shot lead.

I've played it every weekend for the last 4 weeks. Its a smashing 9 hole course but rumour has it that they are considering leaving it go wild :mad: due to financial concerns. Hope this isn't true. It great value for a tenner.
