I currently cannot delete any video throughout my computer. I have checked through the properties of the video and I have full permission to them.

As I look into this, I believe it must be a system protection of some type but I dont know where to start looking. Video files from other folders all actin the same way.

Unfortunatly with just 1.8 gb left I have not much space to do any work!

What kind of error message are you getting when you try to delete them?

    Try deleting in safe mode

When I try to delete any video file it comes up the same message:

    Destination Folder Access Denied
You need permission to perform this action

Download and install Unlocker (Don't install the toolbar!).
when installed right click a video and choose "unlocker", this will tell you which process is holding a lock on the files, and let you kill it

If the video is in a folder and you are trying to delete at the folder level try going into ther folder and delete the video first then delete the folder,i have seen this on several occasions

you may need to wipe the security permissions of the file/folder and reapply them to be able to delete the files. i've come across this problem in the past and the whole thing seems a bit buggy eg, not beeing able to delete a file when i'm the only user with full and express permissions. if unlocker doesn't do the trick either, try using lockhunter in safe mode.

Ok, brilliant guys. Unlocker worked a treat!

I was puzzled, when i picked a video file to test, it said there was no security issues! But gave me the option to delete it through the program anyway, relief, we are up to 10gb!

So I now have to move the other video files which must be kept. I still cant find the solution as in how to move them. My last attempt when cutting a file to a chip failed as i couldnt delete. funny how the pictures in the same folder suscussfully transfered!

My aim: to move the remaining video I like onto a hard drive. (I may have to put them on an online cloud however aint heard much of them yet.)

So Im guessing my best bet is to copy them over to the HD and delete the originals using the Unlocker.

Ill keep you all posted on the results...

Oh,any good, known, Cloud recommendations out there???

There is some software/codec that is causing this issue. Your just going to have to find out what. Stuff like Nero/Google Desktop have things called indexers, that may be causing it. When you right click on the file and choose unlocker, what is the hook on do you see? Explorer.exe?
Windows by default tries to load a thumbnail of recognised media when you open the folder. It relies on a codec to recognise this. If you have a corrupt codec this could cause problems. Go into add/remove programmes/programmes & features (in Control Panel) and look for any items called codec pack. This could be k-lite, cccp codecs, ace codecs etc (theres loads) but uninstall that to see if it helps.
Cloud reccomendations? Have heard Sugarsync is pritty good, not tried it myself yet though!

You can also move files with Unlocker, not just delete them.
I have also found the following to work sometimes: drag the file's icon with the right mouse button to a blank area, choose Cancel from menu. Now delete as normal.
