Sorry there are probably 100s of these floating around, but I can't seem to find a similar situation to mine and was wondering if anyone can help before I ring NERA.

Current company is moving a branch of the business to another office (too far for employees to move) and they have told us that it will happen in a few months. They have announced that there are roles becoming available in another section of the business and the people that will be affected by this branch move will have to apply and interview for these jobs.

My Quesitons are:

A). If I choose not to apply for these other jobs and my branch of work then moves so I've no work to do anymore, do they have to offer me redundancy?

. If I choose to apply for jobs but are unsucessful do they have to offer me redundancy.

I know I can go and ask HR but TBH will only get a beauocratic BS response, they all for the Co. and not for the employees. So I'm wondering, basicall either our jobs are being made redundant or not, and if they are then they either have to offer us redundancy of another role, and they are not offering us another role, they are offering us interviews which are also open to the general public and contract workers etc.
