I'm selling an as new TeMata 260 Zipneck mid/base layer, the colour is slate (a very dark grey). I bought this last week and I've worn it twice. It is in perfect condition, the reason I'm selling it is that I got the sizing wrong, it's labelled as a small but for this particular top a "small" is actually a 97cm/38" chest (oddly, this size is labelled "medium" in some of their other products and is a medium by my definition too). I wore it before deciding that it's simply too big for my liking, which led to my double-checking their size guide and spotting my mistake, but as I've worn it I can't return it for a refund. D'oh!

It is made from 260gsm 21 micron fine merino. The quality of this brand's merino is excellent and despite having reasonably sensitive skin I can wear their stuff directly against my skin and it is very comfortable. I wore this top while commuting in the last couple of days and with just this one layer on I was comfortably warm in temperatures down to 6C - it would be comfortable down below this too without needing any extra layer, but I do tend to run a bit warm generally. In my experience, good quality merino like this is very versatile and can handle a wide range of temperatures well.

I have another merino top in this brand which is a lighter/finer one (190gsm, 18.8 micron) and after 6 months it is still as good as new so these tops are robust. They are machine washable too, they recommend a liquid based wool detergent (I use Woolite), so they are easy to look after. They work as base layers for any activity, not just cycling.

This top is £85/100+euro new, or £93/110+euro including shipping. My asking price is 75euro, which I believe is very good value. I'll add a photo this evening.

Almost forgot that I still have this, it has been sitting in the back of the wardrobe since I put this ad up. Price drop to €65.

In the 2 years since I started this thread I've been wearing the lighter (190gsm) version of this base layer as my only upper body layer on my daily commute. I can wear the lighter layer down to 5C without feeling the cold, good merino provides excellent windproofing as well as insulation. And these tops (I have 3 or 4 of them at this stage) are still going strong after over 2 years of constant use so they are very robust, the heavier top I'm selling here should be at least as robust and probably more so because of the heavier knit.

So, you reckon it's a Medium?

It's for a 97cm/38" chest, which is really a medium size. They deliberately mark it as a small because they assume it'll be worn as a mid or outer layer with one or more layers adding bulk underneath (they market their clothing mainly to mountaineers and the like so they assume people are dressing for extreme conditions and therefore many layers).

Whereabouts are you, so that I can figure out what postage would cost?

@darkvalley, Thanks, I'll check to see what size it packs down to and I'll post back here, probably in the morning.

It looks like it'll fit in an A4 envelope, which keeps the postage costs down, so on that basis I accept your offer.
