I got a new battery off Ebay to try sort the missus' 3gs. Put it in today and its not working. I plugged it in in her house first , the USB plud I used isnt an apple one but what was happenign is it powered on to the screen where it lets you make emergency calls and tells you to connect to itunes. The battery symbol shows the lightning bolt for the power but the battery reads 0% like it doesnt know the battery is there. I tried resetting it a few times by holdign the home key and power at the same time and it just goes to the same thing.

Now when I came home I took it apart again and checked all the conenctions etc, all looks fine. When I try to use my charger (again non apple and a sony ericsson and a htc one) I can get it to show the apple logo on screen then it goes blank. Connecting it to the computer I can get the same but not to start up properly to connect to itunes. I have a sont ipod radio and if I dock it in that it boots to the emergency calls screen, again same as above, shows 0% no matter how long its left in.

Is it a duff battery or something else? Cheers

They sent you a 3G battery, happens all the time, a lot of eBay sellers haven't a clue what they are selling.
What's the apn number on the newly purchased battety?

    Cheers

    EDIT APN: 616-0520

Off topic a bit, but just curious as to why people look on EBAY UK site when there is an Irish one available which is geared towards Ireland (Irish sellers) shows Euro prices and postage to Ireland?

As seen here Same Product on ebay.ie

Ebay uk shows a wider range from my experience and 99 times out of 100 its the same ad just on .ie instead of .co.uk anyway, as shown by your link.

A huge amount of sellers wont bother specifying Ireland on their postage options, so the items wont show up on .ie. I've yet to have anyone not agree to post me soemthign found on the uk site though.

    Yeah I double checked it.

What APN should I be looking for?
