Considering changing but already Registered????

Comtemplating changing the priest who will be marrying us.

To be honest there is a priest I know but he was previously unavailable so we proceeded with the parish priest however it now appears that the priest we know is available.

I always feel it's so much nicer when the priest performing the ceremony knows one of the couple previsouly.

So in short having already registered the wedding and named the PP as the priest marrying us would it be difficult to change this?

(There is still 4 months until the wedding by the way)

Not an issue at all-names can be changed on the day even-we had to change our witnesses and the form was simply amended to reflect this. If the priest was sick or there was another emergency this would also happen. I would just let the registry office know in advance to be sure to be sure, and double check the new priest is approved to marry you. It's not a huge issue.

yeah, it's not unheard of. Our friends had to change church and priest 3 weeks before the wedding because he'd foolishly double booked their date.
