Just wondering would Celtic have their eye on any of Rangers players that become free agents or would that just be taking the piss?

It would take an extremely brave/stupid player to make that move.

Miller and Pressley are one thing - but if any of them signed for Celtic it would make Mo Johnstone seem trivial!

    True.
Also with it being extremely unlikely that rangers old or new will be rivalling Celtic this year, Celtic won't be signing any of the lads (ex rangers or otherwise) looking for wages in excess of about 10 grand.
Celtic will downsize I'd imagine. Both on squad numbers and wages.

Shame it has to be like that though, there's some clubs going to pick up some cracking players for nothing because of it. Aluko, McGregor, Naismith and Davis would be great additions to most squads in Britain to be honest.

Sevco cannot produce three years accounts therefore it fails to meet the necessary criteria for admittance to the SFL third Division. Any move to circumvent the already established process and criteria for entry into the professional game in Scotland in order to favour one hopeful club over another, will result in a legal challenge by the disaffected clubs, which will suspend the beginning of the Scottish season.

There is nothing in the rule book that states you have to have three years accounts, so whoever wrote this piece is very mistaken.

There is a rule however that all clubs have to pay a tenner a season membership fee, that might kill us at this rate!

If they were going to be losing all these players anyway wud they not have been better selling them all raising more cash for the CVA and then work on rebuilding the team from what ever league and working through administration. I think the longer this goes on the more Rangers fans will feel unrelated to the new entity

I've also read somewhere, (can't vouch for accuracy) that the deadline for this years accounts has passed, so in effect the Newco won't be eligible for European football for 4 years?

Incidently... Does anyone here (fans of any team) believe if it's Div 3 football, that the Newco will gain successive promotions back to the top tier. Or will there be hiccups along the way?

    http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/spl/4397031/Icons-Snub-season-tickets.html

IBROX icons last night stuck the boot into Charles Green’s Rangers newco and told fans: DON’T buy your season tickets from this man.
We want to say to the fans don’t buy your season tickets as we fear money is going to go in and then disappear.

“That’s what happened under Craig Whyte and look where we are today.

“The fear of that money disappearing is a very real one for us.

“So this morning I say show us the title deeds, who has keys to Ibrox?

“We want to get you out of OUR club, we’ll help the fans fund the takeover.

“That will ensure that no greedy man can ever do this to Rangers again.

“I urge the fans to get behind us, starve them of your money.”

“I am making this decision because I believe the regime in charge are NOT the true owners of the football club.

“They have documents under Sevco but we want to know whose name is on the title deeds for Ibrox, Murray Park and Albion car park.

“That’s the key to the future of our club.”

    Divide & Conquer tactics?

We won't be playing European football for at least that length of time anyway.

I think we could out a team together to win divisions 2 and 3 in succession then maybe have to spend an extra year in division 1.

One thing is certain and that is it won't be easy.

Only possible hiccup I could see would be Div 1, depending on what players they would be managing to keep/attract when they got there. No problem whatsoever getting to Div 1, and more than likely would sail through Div 1 also realistically.

If the league setup changes as proposed in the meantime, playoffs for promotion would make successive promotions even more likely.

The only way there could be a hiccup realistically I think would be if they struggled to rebuild as the new club i.e. if there were still serious financial problems that threatened to jeopardise the very existence of the new club.

Within 10 years, we'll be the first team in Scotland to win every division.

The new Derry City which were founded in 2010 were banned from playing in the Europa League by UEFA this year because they did not have three years accounts.

It is the case for European football but I believe he was referring to a claim made that 3 years accounts are required to apply for SFL membership. Which may or may not be true, I don't know either way.

So are all the Bears going to get behind Bomber Brown? He's more of a stumbling fool than Craigy Craigy Whyte

The article stated that Sevco needed 3 years accounts to join the SFL.

Nice idea in theory, but doesn't sound very well thought out tbh.

They need a smooth operator in the media like David Murray....oh wait!

You think he's running for chairman ?

He's only the public face, like Walter Smith was with the other bid.

And I think most fans will get behind Brown, there's no other option either way.

Green doesn't have the money to keep the club going and I doubt he even meant to get into the SPL or SFL.

Yeah I know that's European football, I'm on about the rumour that you have to have three years accounts to apply to the SFL.

If the current owners don't have the money to keep the club going, is there a chance that The Newco will go into administration?????

    Fan Investment Model
    Wednesday, 27 June 2012 12:57
The Rangers Supporters Trust today announces that it has been developing a vehicle which could ensure fans can be part of the club's future. More details were due to be announced shortly.

In the interest of unity we shall be consulting with our sister fan organisations and those parties (such as John Brown’s consortium) who have the long-term interests of the club at heart before a formal launch.

The scheme we envisaged would enable supporters to join forces and purchase shares to create a bloc shareholding in the Club on behalf of fans.

We have been developing a model of fan investment in consultation with the relevant advisory bodies and tailoring it to the situation at Ibrox.

One example of such a scheme was produced by FC United of Manchester - http://fc-utd.co.uk/communityshares

We would also like to ask that all the current playing squad give the fans time to put a consortium in place whilst considering their future, we hope as many of them as possible will stay and become part of something historic as the world's most successful club moves forward into a new era.

We are now in a position to call on Rangers fans from all areas of the Rangers Family with the requisite knowledge and experience to come forward to assist us in this task.

I think Dave King was on the money about Green. He doesnt have the funds to subsidise sevco at the wage bill rangers were at. He was hoping to get all those players and get some working capital in selling them. The loophole is killing his whole gameplan. He didnt talk to players before transferring their contracts and is now complaining that players didnt give him notice the day he done it! Nobody knows his business plan, nobody knows if he actually has the deeds to Ibrox/Murray park etc, nobody knows whos backing him. He hasnt filed the required paperwork yet and he's not a fit and proper person yet. He doesnt even have a football club yet, just a company looking to become a football club. It will be a miracle if he controls Rangers assets in a years time.

I know some of the Rangers lads are annoyed with the players that announced their intentions to leave but I dont know how you could expect players to take that leap of faith. If this happened Celtic, I'd expect every player to run, not walk away.

    EDIT

Greenock Morton will vote against Sevco getting a Div1 berth.

Won't even come to that, Green will liquidate Sevco and get the assets.
"This new company was registered as RFC 0712 Limited on 21 June and changed its name to RFC 2012 Limited the next day. (Might just have been as admin error, so can't read much into that.)

The registered office is the address of MacRoberts, solicitors, the same address as Sevco Scotland Limited, which was the Scottish company Green set up last month, and not to be confused with the English/Welsh company Sevco 5088 Limited whose registered office is Green's London solicitors.

The sole director of RFC 2012 Limited is Green. There were 2 shares initially created, both owned by Green."

From boss on RangersMedia, who is definitely in the know regarding things at Ibrox.

That he will be the owner of the assets and can ask whatever the **** he wants to anybody that wants to get them.

    So that's Ibrox, Auchenhowie,...

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if Whyte is still involved somehow.
