Vibration noise from rear, narrow rev band

Quick one for any of you more mechanically minded folks.

The C30 has developed a metallic vibration-style rattle from somewhere under the rear but only at a very narrow rev band, around 2100-2200k in any gear. Below or above these revs not a bother.

Think I better get it checked out in case whatever it is causes more trouble but does anyone have any guesses?

Could something have worked its way loose perhaps, or a bearing somewhere need replacing?

NOTE FOR MODS: move to the maintenance thread if you think it's best, just thought I'd get more views here

Could be anything, I had something similar on my V50, and it turned out to be a failing component in the diff, was really weird only happened around the 2000 rpm range.

Very hard to pinpoint where a sound is coming from in the cabin, for weeks i thought it was coming from the back, then it turns out to be the front.
