    Hi

If you employ a domestic employee to work in your home and pay them more then €40 per week then you are obliged to register as an employer and deduct PAYE/PRSI/USE in the normal way.

If you pay them less the €40 per week you do not have to register as an employer but you must still pay their employer's PRSI directly to the Dept of Social Protection.

    Do a search on revenue.ie for "IT53"

    Kind Regards

Thanks! Registration done, just some people were saying €90 is under the tax bracket so thanks for the clarification!

What does the tax credit cert for your employee tell you to do? Every persons tax situation is different. You may wish to review the following below links which will show you your duties as an employer.
